Thule Vertex 4-Bike Swing Away (9031XT)

The 9030 Vertex Swing Away bike carrier bolts securely to a 50mm square tow hitch socket.Its tough American design makes it a heavy duty unit that will hold your bikes securely, looks great and provide years of service.
The Vertex 9031 bike carrier swings completely to the side of the vehicle even with a full load. This gives complete access to the rear of the car without having to remove bikes. Pefect for when you need to get to the Eski hlaf way to your destination!
Soft rubber cradles cushion the bike and anti-sway cradles are provided to give additional restraint to the bikes. The cradles have channels moulded into them for cables to sit in to without crushing them against the bike frame.
Top folds down with a pull of a lever for easier storage.
The Vertex bike racks simply bolt onto the tow hitch using the supplied bolt and spanner. Alternatively the STL2 Snug-Tite lock (shown on right) can be supplied as an optional extra.

A swing away style bike carrier for less than 500 bucks: brilliant! The Vertex range of bike carriers are very popular and great range of carriers but the added swing away feature of the 9031 makes this product not only, tough, stylish but excellent value for money. It is missing a lock to secure it the vehicle so for a carrier as desirable as this one I would recommend adding the optional STL2 locking accessory. It would really spoil your day if you retunred from a great cycling trip to find it missing from the back of your car. The bikes can simply be secured with a regular bicycle cable lock and you have full security if you should take a rest stop on your trip.
