The HangOn 972 has the quality expected of a Thule rack in a clever design. It shares the same attachment method used across the HangOn range which is a simple clamp around a standard 50mm diameter towball using the supplied spanner. The unit is light in weight and very compact for storage when the arms are folded flat. The 972 also allows for the carrier to be tilted away from the vehicle to give access to the rear of the car.
Carries 3 bikes on all vehicles with a standard towball 50mm towball.
Simple and secure attachment to towball using the supplied spanner.
Bike frames are held in a soft rubber cradle with flexible restraining strap.

If you are looking for a 3 bike carrier that attaches to a standard 50mm diameter towball and a platform style carrier isn't for you, then the Thule 972 would be my pick. It has a simple secure attachment and is a well designed solution. You could also consider the Thule 974 which is a non-tilting version. However, the tilt feature and the ease with which the 972 folds flat is worth the extra twenty dollars.
