The Rhino Rack S512 Folding J-Cradle is a very clever accessory for carrying your kayak on its side. It supports and protects the kayak well. It folds down when not in use, includes all the tie down straps you need and incorporates a clever paddle holder. It can also be extended with the S512X to carry a second kayak for half the cost of buying a complete second system.
The S512 attaches to a wide range of crossbar profiles and roof racks brands using a simple and effective thumb screw system for quick fitting and removal.
Kit includes a pair of cradles incorporating a paddle holder, fitting hardware and 4 tie down straps.
Soft padding to protect hull and a neat paddle holder.
Folds flat when not in use and adjustable to multiple angles.
Can be extended to a second kayak using the S512X extension kit.

The Rhino Rack S512 J-Cradle is a first class unit for transporting your kayak on its side when roof rack space is an issue. It comes with a full set of tie down straps and the paddle holder is a neat touch. The ability to use this unit to carry 2 kayaks with an extension kit is clever and a good money saver. Although to do this, the loading of kayaks isn't as easy as having an independent J-cradle set on each side of the car and you lose the use of the paddle holder. However, you do save around $120 over buying 2 complete sets so it is a worthwhile saving.
